Make Your Own Adorable Cat Toy!

Do you ever feel bored but don't know what to do? Well, here's a easy, little project to keep you AND your feline friend entertained. We searched on good ol' Pinterest for some inspiration and found this cute idea. This project took us about 45 min and made two cat toys. We made extra circles, which would have made several more, but we ran out of time. Tip: don't get too concerned with perfection. Cats are not picky.

What materials we used?

Basic cotton string, 2 ft long

Scissors

Cardboard, 4 pieces

Electric drill (but a simple hole punch would have done much better)

A box

Blue painter's tape

Black marker

4 Small jingle bells

Protractor (but you could use a small lid to trace a circle)

What did we do?

Used the protractor to make small circles on cardboard.

Cut out the circles with the scissors.

Drilled holes in the center of each circle. Side note: you could easily use a sturdy hole punch, but we didn't have one on hand.

We placed a box underneath in order to protect the table while drilling.

Blake needed to have a little help holding the circles while drilling, so we used some tape to hold them down.

He was then having trouble getting the hole right in the center. This is where I made a small black dot to indicate where he should aim. This worked great.

Lace several discs with string. Blake chose to add four to the one he made.

Tie a jingle bell on either end of the string to finish it off.

Blake and I will be donating these toys to our local Humane Society. This adorable little toy is definitely something you could make and share with any animal rescue center you support.
